Happy to report that encouraged by the brain storming session rendered by our beloved President Dr. Abhijit K Dam, Marie Eugenie Centre for Human Development, Malaparambu, Kozhikode, NAPCAIM Organisational Member, has streamlined the offline 6 months Geriatric and Palliative Care Aide Course.

They propose to launch the course on 13th May 2024 on an experimental basis.  They replicate the course already being run at Kosish-The Hospice, Jharkhand, with minor modifications to suit to local needs.  The medium of instruction would be Malayalam.  They propose to continue running the course on a regular basis incorporating additions/deletions after learning lessons from the launch edition.

Kudos to Sr. Alphonsa J Pulikottil, Director of the Centre and Vice President, NAPCAIM Kozhikode City Chapter, who took the brunt of the task, ably assisted by Dr. K L Babu, Mr. Jose Pulimoottil, Mr. M T Muhammed, and the whole team of members and staff of the Centre for transforming our dream of running this course across the country through our chapters and organisational members to reality.

Lets together give a big round of applause to the Centre and the committed members behind this project.

Meanwhile, I would request our Chapters and other organisational members to come up with their expression of interest to run the course in their respective areas so that we would be able to address a growing need of such Aides to take care of the elderly and palliative care patients in their own homes.
