We Are Not Left Alone ;

Voice For The Voiceles

Dr. Piyush Gupta elected Director, GNEC

Dr. Piyush Gupta, PEO of Cancer Aid Society and National Secretary of National Association of Palliative Care for AYUSH and Integrative Medicine (NAPCAIM) elected as Director of GNEC from 2024 to 2026 for a two year term.  He will assume charge in August 2024.

The Global NGO Executive Committee (GNEC) is a storied non-profit that has, for 60 years, partnered with the United Nations to guarantee a voice at the decision-making table for civil society leaders.

GNEC serves the dynamic needs of an evolving global NGO community by providing guidance, information and strategic support; amplifying communications between Civil Society and the United Nations Department of Global Communications (UNDGC); and facilitating more effective partnerships to advance the UN’s global goals.

GNEC was founded in 1962 to promote a closer working relationship between the United Nations and the non-governmental organizations (NGOs) affiliated with it. GNEC acts as a liaison between the NGO community and the UN's Department of Global Communications (UNDGC). GNEC provides strategic guidance to help NGOs become more effective partners of the UN.  Its Headquarters is at New York, United States of America.

The Global NGO Executive Committee (GNEC) has an 18-member Board. By GNEC by-laws, each member of the Board must be a representative of one of the UNDGC affiliated NGOs/CSOs.  Cancer Aid Society (CAIDS) and National Association of Palliative Care for AYUSH and Integrative Medicine (NAPCAIM) are Associates of UNDGC.

GNEC offers services to more than 1,500 UNDGC affiliated NGOs which are on the frontlines of addressing and tackling the most pressing issues of our time.

Kudos to Dr. Piyush Gupta for this covetous recognition adding a feather to his cap.  Both CAIDS and NAPCAIM families wish him all the best in this new international assignment.
