  Goa State Chapter spreads its wings to take NAPCAIM to greater heights Happy to report that NAPCAIM Goa State Chapter has been formally inaugurated and the office bearers installed by Shri   Damodar Bhatkar , President, Shree Nagesh Devasthan, at Laxminarayan Hall, Magesh Devasthan, Bandodra, Ponda, Goa, with the august presence of Shri Harshad Kamat  , President, Shree Mahalaxmi Saunsthan, Guest of Honour,    Dr Abhijit K Dam, NAPCAIM National President, M r. Radhakrishna Menon, Vice Pre s ident ,  Dr Pranab Kumar Basu , Member, NAPCAIM  Jharkhand State Chapter, Dr. Vallabh B Dhaimodker, President, NAPCAIM Goa State Chapter and other office bearers. Formal inauguration of the Training Division was made by Mr. K Radha Krishna Menon, Vice President, NAPCAIM. Dr. Abhijit K Dam, President, NAPCAIM, rendered session on “Art and Science of Palliative Care” and Dr. Pranab Kumar Basu, Member, Jharkhand State Chapter, NAPCAIM, rendered a session on “Bereavement Care”.

  Sharing is Caring - Sharing ‘Ifthar’ moments with ‘Suraksha’ volunteers   Suraksha Palliative Care Trust shared ‘Ifthar’ moments with its volunteers and members of Dathathreya Integrated Holistic Centre, Kanjoor, Kochi, at the residence of Mrs. Rehna Jamal  at Sreebhoothapuram. The Ifthar Meet was addressed by Vaidyaratnam Dr. Raghavan Ramankutty, Chairman of the Trust, Mrs. Sarada Raghavan, Dr. Shyam Prasad Raghavan, Mr. K Radhakrishna Menon, Mr.Mujeeb Kuttamassery and members of both the organisations. Suraksha Palliative Care Trust started its journey on 26 th  January 2023 with the blessings from the palliative care legend Ms. Gilly Burn.   They started home care service and was able to give solace to nearly 300 patients requiring palliative care in three   Grama Panchayaths and one municipality during the period. Training for volunteers was also organised involving the members from the local community, who take the lead in identifying the patients and extending home care support

  Happy to report that encouraged by the brain storming session rendered by our beloved President Dr. Abhijit K Dam, Marie Eugenie Centre for Human Development, Malaparambu, Kozhikode, NAPCAIM Organisational Member, has streamlined the offline 6 months Geriatric and Palliative Care Aide Course.   They propose to launch the course on 13th  May 2024 on an experimental basis.  They replicate the course already being run at Kosish-The Hospice, Jharkhand, with minor modifications to suit to local needs.  The medium of instruction would be Malayalam.  They propose to continue running the course on a regular basis incorporating additions/deletions after learning lessons from the launch edition. Kudos to Sr. Alphonsa J Pulikottil, Director of the Centre and Vice President, NAPCAIM Kozhikode City Chapter, who took the brunt of the task, ably assisted by Dr. K L Babu, Mr. Jose Pulimoottil, Mr. M T Muhammed, and the whole team of members and staff of the Centre for transforming our dream of runni
