  Goa State Chapter spreads its wings to take NAPCAIM to greater heights Happy to report that NAPCAIM Goa State Chapter has been formally inaugurated and the office bearers installed by Shri   Damodar Bhatkar , President, Shree Nagesh Devasthan, at Laxminarayan Hall, Magesh Devasthan, Bandodra, Ponda, Goa, with the august presence of Shri Harshad Kamat  , President, Shree Mahalaxmi Saunsthan, Guest of Honour,    Dr Abhijit K Dam, NAPCAIM National President, M r. Radhakrishna Menon, Vice Pre s ident ,  Dr Pranab Kumar Basu , Member, NAPCAIM  Jharkhand State Chapter, Dr. Vallabh B Dhaimodker, President, NAPCAIM Goa State Chapter and other office bearers. Formal inauguration of the Training Division was made by Mr. K Radha Krishna Menon, Vice President, NAPCAIM. Dr. Abhijit K Dam, President, NAPCAIM, rendered session on “Art and Science of Palliative Care” and Dr. Pranab Kumar Basu, Member, Jharkhand State Chapter, NAPCAIM, rendered a session on “Bereavement Care”.

  Sharing is Caring - Sharing ‘Ifthar’ moments with ‘Suraksha’ volunteers   Suraksha Palliative Care Trust shared ‘Ifthar’ moments with its volunteers and members of Dathathreya Integrated Holistic Centre, Kanjoor, Kochi, at the residence of Mrs. Rehna Jamal  at Sreebhoothapuram. The Ifthar Meet was addressed by Vaidyaratnam Dr. Raghavan Ramankutty, Chairman of the Trust, Mrs. Sarada Raghavan, Dr. Shyam Prasad Raghavan, Mr. K Radhakrishna Menon, Mr.Mujeeb Kuttamassery and members of both the organisations. Suraksha Palliative Care Trust started its journey on 26 th  January 2023 with the blessings from the palliative care legend Ms. Gilly Burn.   They started home care service and was able to give solace to nearly 300 patients requiring palliative care in three   Grama Panchayaths and one municipality during the period. Training for volunteers was also organised involving the members from the local community, who take the lead in identifying the patients and extending home care support

  Happy to report that encouraged by the brain storming session rendered by our beloved President Dr. Abhijit K Dam, Marie Eugenie Centre for Human Development, Malaparambu, Kozhikode, NAPCAIM Organisational Member, has streamlined the offline 6 months Geriatric and Palliative Care Aide Course.   They propose to launch the course on 13th  May 2024 on an experimental basis.  They replicate the course already being run at Kosish-The Hospice, Jharkhand, with minor modifications to suit to local needs.  The medium of instruction would be Malayalam.  They propose to continue running the course on a regular basis incorporating additions/deletions after learning lessons from the launch edition. Kudos to Sr. Alphonsa J Pulikottil, Director of the Centre and Vice President, NAPCAIM Kozhikode City Chapter, who took the brunt of the task, ably assisted by Dr. K L Babu, Mr. Jose Pulimoottil, Mr. M T Muhammed, and the whole team of members and staff of the Centre for transforming our dream of runni

NAPCAIM National Delegation visits Prof. Dr. Nitin M Gangane, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research, Belagavi   NAPCAIM National Delegation headed by Dr. K B Linge Gowda, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education, Tumkur & National Vice President, National Association of Palliative Care for AYUSH and Integrative Medicine, paid a visit to Prof. Dr. Nitin M Gangane, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, KAHER, Belagavi, for detailed discussions for hosting NAPCAIM IC 2024.   The delegation consisted of Mr. K Radhakrishna Menon, National Vice President, NAPCAIM, Dr. K L Babu, Assistant Vice President, Kerala State Chapter, Dr, S N Mala, Assistant Vice President, Karnataka State Chapter, Dr. S Shreyas, Member, Governing Council, Bengaluru City Chapter, Dr. Girija Sanikop, President, Belagavi City Chapter and Dr. Ashwini, Professor, Community Medicine, SSAHE. It was decided to hold the conference in November 2024  at KLE Centenar

  Union AYUSH Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal ji released brochure of NAPCAIM ICON 2023 Kanjoor: NAPCAIM ICON 2023 - 2nd International Conference of National Association of Palliative Care for AYUSH and Integrative Medicine, is being held from 5th to 7th October 2023 at Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, Kalamassery, Kochi, Kerala, India. Shri Sarbananda Sonowalji, Hon’ble Union Minister for Ports, Shipping & Waterways and AYUSH, formally released the Conference brochure by handing over to Shri Mujeeb Kuttamassery, Secretary, Kerala State Chapter, NAPCAIM, at a solemn function held at Suraksha Palliative Care Centre, Kanjoor.   Neighbourhood Network in Palliative Care by  Suraksha Palliative Care Trust    Palliative Care Community Awareness Programme was organized in association with MSM at Al-Fithra School, Sreebhoothapuram, on 15 th May 2023.  Nearly 50 women members actively participated.  Community Volunteer teams drawn from different wards of Sreemoolanagaram Grama Panchayath area were also formed for need based assessment of the patients with debilitating illnesses in their respective wards.  It was also decided to schedule the visit of Suraksha palliative home care team as per emerging patient needs.   The programme was led by Mr. Mujeeb Kuttamassery, Palliative Care Consultant, Suraksha Palliative Care Trust, Mr. K Radhakrishna Menon, National Vice President, National Association of Palliative Care for AYUSH and Integrative Medicine, Dr. Jaya Sree, Medical Officer, Ms. Anjali, Dietician and Ms.Sivia, palliative care nurse, Suraksha Palliative Care Centre. It was also decided to organise
